Registry Fox Is A Well Veiled Scam

When trying to determine whether or not a program is legitimate, it’s nice when you can simply input the program’s name in a search and all of the results instantly provide you with warnings and removal instructions, giving you ample evidence that the program you’re dealing with is a fake. Alas, if only we were so fortunate with registry fox, a rogue registry cleaner that by all appearances is a convincing tool for optimizing your PC.

Rogue registry cleaners like registry fox prey on a problem common to most computer users: that of an ever-slowing machine which freezes and gives you error messages with increasing frequency. This phenomenon is commonly experienced over time because adding and removing programs from your computer can leave several invalid applications, unused shortcuts, corrupt files, and additional errors that corrupt the registry’s pathways. Registry fox has numerous websites containing very convincing claims that the program can solve this problem for you, optimize your PC, and increase its speed by up to 70%. While it is possible that a good registry clean up can do this for you, registry fox is not the program you want to put to that task.

Once on your computer, registry fox will run a fake scan and report fabricated registry errors, which it will then use to scare you into buying its licensed version. It will use pop ups and fake system alerts containing messages of immanent doom to convince you that this is the best solution. Clicking on these pop ups and alerts will lead you to the program’s website where you can spend your money on a product that will not do what is promised, yet happily take your money for “trying.”

Obviously, if you ended up tangoing with registry fox, you really do need help cleaning up your PC. To that end, the most effective steps you can take start by your removing registry fox either manually or with the use of a legitimate antispyware tool, and then finding yourself a good registry cleaner that will live up to your expectations.

You can remove registry fox manually by killing its running processes, deleting its associated registry values and files, and unregistering its DLLs. Use caution if you try this method, as the accidental deletion of the wrong file could cause further damage to your machine. Also, note that if you do not find all of registry fox’s files and entries, the program may reinstall itself upon system reboot.

You can remove registry fox automatically by investing in a legitimate antispyware tool. Again, use caution if this is your method of choice, as there are twice as many rogue antispyware programs out to scam you as there are rogue registry cleaners. Look for a program that guarantees 100% malware removal, provides live customer support people, and guarantees your money back if you are not satisfied. Additionally, look for legitimacy markers such as memberships with organizations like the Better Business Bureau, awards for outstanding service, and positive customer reviews before investing in any antispyware program. There are plenty of good programs out there; it’s a shame that programs like registry fox do every one such a disservice.
