How can I transfer photo to cake top for decorating.?
We are into cake decorating, and having hard time transfering pictures (such as horse head etc.) on to cake icing to decorate. Have had to mostly trace then try to make out where tracing is. Does anyone have a good way of transfering photos or pictures to a cake top?
I was professioanal cake decorater for about 13 yrs. Do you want a real pic on your cake or a drawing? Real pics are put on cakes using a scanner and printer with edible ink and a special tranfer paper. These machines are costly. Go to a local bakery and ask if they will print your pic for you and sell you the tranfer. If you want a drawing, you can use a projector. We had big commercial ones, but I think they sell small projectors for kids art projects, you might try that. The drawing is projected onto the cake, then you can make an outline and either airbrush it or fill it in with icing.
